We are prepared to re-cast the show should an actor be late or absent from scheduled rehearsals.
Actively seeking multi-ethnic actors to reflect the reality of the incredibly diverse populations of the American West of the late 19th century that gravitated to the wild frontier for the possibilities it promised: freedom, opportunity, and self-determination.
Inspired by the toughness of the prairie, Artistic Director Cagle McDonald sets her production in the robust world of territory life with a dynamic cast as rich and complex as the great tapestry of America itself. With Rodgers and Hammerstein’s timeless music, Oklahoma! celebrates the vigor of America’s pioneering spirit with athletic dance and boot-stomping energy. Chock full of classic tunes such as “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” and “People will Say We’re in Love,” this production will thrill audiences young and old.
Oklahoma! began a revolution in American musical
theater. Never before had a musical so successfully integrated music, dance and storytelling. Oklahoma! helped
define a truly American art form. It has never been
produced on the Irvington Town Hall Theater stage.
